3 Man Drinking Game
3 Man, also called Three Man, is a dice drinking game. One player becomes the Three Man, and every roll that shows a three makes them drink. Other rolls send drinks around the table.
All you need is two dice. Rules vary from group to group, so the set below is a common starting point. Agree on your house rules before the first roll.
- Players
- 3-10
- You need
- Two dice, Drinks for everyone, Optional: a silly hat for the Three Man
How to Play 3 Man
Pick the Three Man: Go around the circle with each player rolling one die. The first person to roll a 3 is the Three Man.
Taking turns: Players take turns rolling both dice. You keep rolling as long as your roll does something. When a roll does nothing, pass the dice to the left.
- A 3 on either die: The Three Man takes a sip for each 3 showing.
- Dice add up to 3 (a 1 and a 2): The Three Man takes a sip.
- Dice add up to 7: The player to your left takes a sip.
- Dice add up to 11: The player to your right takes a sip.
- Dice add up to 9: Everyone takes a sip.
- Doubles: Hand out sips equal to one die. Double 4s means you give out 4 sips.
Escaping the hot seat: When the Three Man rolls a 3 on their own turn, they are free. The next player to roll a 3 becomes the new Three Man.
Tips
- Write your house rules on a napkin. Dice games breed arguments.
- Keep the sips small. A cold streak as Three Man can get long.
- Roll into a box lid or tray so the dice stay on the table.
