Rage Cage Drinking Game

Rage Cage is a fast, high-energy cup game with no set turns. Everyone plays at once, and the pressure never really stops. It is also known as Stack Cup, and it is a close cousin of Slap Cup.

All you need is a stack of cups, two ping pong balls, and a table. The rules are simple, but the speed is what makes it fun.

How to Play Rage Cage

Setup: Arrange the cups in a ring in the middle of the table, about three or four per player, each filled partway. Fill one extra cup to the top and put it in the center. Two players sitting across from each other each grab a cup and a ball to start.

Get going: The two starting players drink their cup, then bounce or drop their ball into that now-empty cup. Once your ball lands, pass the cup and ball to the player on your left, who does the same. Two cups travel around the circle at once.

The race: You are racing the player directly ahead of you. If you land your ball before they land theirs, you stack your empty cup on top of their cup. They have to grab a fresh cup from the ring, drink it, and keep going, now passing a taller stack. Land your ball on the first try and you can pass the cup to any player you like.

The center cup: Leave the full center cup alone. If your ball lands in it by accident, drink it and add that cup to your stack. When the cups in the ring run out, whoever is stuck with the stack finishes the center cup, and the round ends. Refill and go again.

Tips

  • Keep the pours small. This game moves fast and the drinks add up.
  • Bouncing the ball off the table into the cup is the quickest way to score.
  • Play on a sturdy table. It gets rowdy.

How many people do you need for Rage Cage?

Four is a good minimum, and it gets more fun with more players. Anything up to about twelve works well around one table.

Is Rage Cage the same as Stack Cup or Slap Cup?
